Job summary

Tiro is offering a Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship in Medical Engineering Technologies in Dover, Kent. You will join the Combinations & Physical Testing Department and gain hands-on lab experience while studying.

The programme runs over 20 months with blended learning, including online sessions, in-person training, and a dedicated workplace mentor. Starting salary is £15,000 per year, with 20 days annual leave and 35 working hours per week.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in medical devices with careful data recording and procedure adherence.
• Organised, reliable with a strong work ethic and ability to follow procedures.
• Engineering or Science A-level, or lab experience, is advantageous but not required.
• Must be 18+ and eligible to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out laboratory testing on medical devices in line with approved protocols and test methods.
• Collecting and accurately recording test data and completing test documentation.
• Supporting the monitoring of laboratory equipment, including ovens, fridges and incubators.
• Learning how laboratory work is carried out in line with ISO standards, internal procedures and MET’s Quality Management System.
• Supporting laboratory housekeeping and stock management.
