Job summary

The Center for GI Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support gastroenterology physicians in a busy office. You will gather patient history, measure vitals, verify allergies and meds, and help prepare charts and test results for providers.

Responsibilities include assisting with exams, breath tests, lab orders, and radiology, while maintaining patient confidentiality and efficient visit flow. You must be organized, compassionate, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate.
• Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant experience.
• Demonstrates clinical expertise in gastroenterology nursing.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Take patients to exam rooms and collect vitals and allergies.
• Assist providers with exams and procedures.
• Administer Breath Tests.
• Answer patient calls and manage inquiries.
• Receive and distribute EMR documents and emails.
• Schedule procedures, office visits, labs, radiology, and consultations.
• Keep exam rooms clean, neat and stocked.
• Log off, shut down and secure devices nightly.
• Access and document patient history.
