The Position

This strategic leadership role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the medical direction of emerging therapy areas at Novo Nordisk, fostering innovation, collaboration, and scientific excellence both nationally and globally. You will report to the Director of Medical Affairs, Rare Diseases and Emerging Therapy Areas.

Your responsibilities include:

  1. Developing and executing the UK medical strategy for emerging areas such as MASH and Alzheimer’s disease, aligning with global plans and supporting product development and launches.
  2. Leading KOL engagement, medical insights, publication planning, and exploring real-world evidence opportunities to establish Novo Nordisk as a scientific leader in new therapeutic areas.
  3. Supporting clinical research activities, reviewing Investigator Initiated Studies, and contributing to phase 4 and RWE initiatives with clinical teams.
  4. Ensuring compliance with ABPI standards, mentoring trainees, and supporting business compliance.
  5. Representing the UK in global forums, delivering training, supporting healthcare professional education, and leading strategic projects to enhance credibility and engagement.
Qualifications

To succeed, you need outstanding leadership skills, the ability to manage complex tasks, and a strong scientific background, including:

  • Advanced scientific qualification (MD/MBBS/PhD/Mpharm)
  • At least 5 years’ experience in medical affairs within pharma, biotech, or medical devices, with leadership experience
  • Clinical experience in NHS or therapy areas like neurology or Alzheimer’s disease
  • Knowledge of ABPI Code and UK healthcare environment
  • Fluency in English, verbal and written
