Job summary

Barnsley College is seeking an enthusiastic Teacher in Digital & Creative Media to join the Digital & Creative Industries department. The role focuses on delivering engaging and innovative teaching across media programmes and preparing learners for higher education or employment.

You will work with a supportive team, deliver high-quality learning, and contribute to curriculum planning, assessment and quality assurance to ensure learners succeed and progress in the creative sector.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and organisational skills are essential.
  • Experience of delivering learning to a diverse range of students.
  • Experience of teaching/assessing within an educational setting (within last 2 years).
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud software.

Job description

Barnsley College is seeking an enthusiastic, creative and industry-focused Teacher in Digital & Creative Media to join our thriving Digital & Creative Industries department. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and develop the next generation of digital and creative professionals through the delivery of engaging and innovative teaching across a range of media programmes. Working within a dynamic and supportive team, you will deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment to learners studying vocational and higher education qualifications. You will teach across Digital & Creative Media courses, supporting learners to develop specialist media skills, creativity and technical knowledge through a variety of exciting projects and industry-relevant activities. You will contribute to curriculum planning, course delivery, assessment and quality assurance processes while creating an outstanding learning experience that raises aspirations and supports learner success. Working closely with colleagues, employers and external partners, you will help ensure our curriculum remains relevant, engaging and aligned to the evolving needs of the Digital and Creative Industries sector. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference to learners' futures while working within a forward-thinking and innovative college environment.

You will be a passionate and knowledgeable media professional with experience of teaching, assessing or delivering learning within an educational setting. You will have a strong understanding of Digital & Creative Media and be confident using Adobe Creative Cloud software. You will be able to deliver engaging and effective learning to a diverse range of students, supporting them to achieve their qualifications and progress into higher education or employment. You will possess excellent communication and organisational skills and be committed to providing an outstanding learner experience. You will be enthusiastic about developing innovative teaching practices, building relationships with employers and ensuring learners gain the skills and knowledge needed to succeed within the creative sector.   • Degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant subject.
  • Teaching qualification (must be willing to work towards PGCE if Level 6 not already held)
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent Level 2 qualification)
  • Experience of Adobe Creative Cloud software.
  • Experience of working within an education setting in a teaching/ assessment capacity (within last 2 years).
  • Knowledge of specialist Software: Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Experience of delivering learning to a range of learners.
  • Experience of developing learning materials
  • A successful record of working with employers to inform curriculum planning.
  • Experience of delivering learning to a range of learners.
  • Experience of working within the Digital/ Creative industries.
