Job summary

Artemis Chase - Defence & Space Specialists in Herefordshire, UK is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer (electronics heavy) to own mechatronics and electronics hardware end-to-end. You will drive schematics, prototyping, and production-readiness, collaborating with firmware and mechanical teams to deliver field-ready systems.

The role blends on-site work with hybrid flexibility, with responsibilities spanning from concept to production in a fast-moving defence context.

Qualifications

• Experience designing analog and digital circuits from schematic to validated hardware.
• Experience integrating mechanical and electronic systems into physical platforms or vehicles.
• Strong prototyping, concept design and NPI experience.
• Strong hands-on lab and debugging skills.
• Power electronics experience: regulators, protection, battery and charging systems.
• Track record of component selection and BOM ownership balanced for availability and cost.
• Eligible for UK SC clearance and able to work on site in the West Midlands three days a week.

Responsibilities

• Design all mechatronic and electronic systems.
• Create analog and digital circuits and electronic schematics.
• Take hardware from first prototype through testing to a validated design.
• Review PCB layouts for signal integrity, EMI/EMC, and manufacturability.
• Own power design: DC-DC, LDO, battery and charging systems.
• DfM from prototyping to production, collaborating with manufacturing.
• Work with firmware, mechanical and systems engineers to optimise the overall system.
