JCB invites applicants to its Mechatronics Apprenticeship, a demanding scheme that fuses mechanical and electrical engineering with robotics and product engineering. The programme runs for 44 months starting September 2027, combining block release training with work-based learning at JCB.
In the first two years, you’ll undertake training blocks and placements, then you’ll be based full-time at JCB for the remainder, completing a final practical assessment in the workplace.
Start Date - September 2027, typically for 44 months
Starting Salary - £16,000
Minimum Entry Criteria - You’ll need at least four GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths, English and a relevant scientific/technical subject at C/4 or above.
Unfortunately, JCB is unable to offer visa sponsorship or immigration support for its Emerging Talent schemes, either now or in the future. This includes individuals currently on sponsored visas.
Mechatronics is where mechanical engineering meets electrical engineering. It’s robotics, electronics, product engineering and more. It’s fixing the machines that we need to make our machines. Without you, the machines won’t just grind to a halt, they will stay that way.
For the first two years of the apprenticeship, you'll undertake a combination of block release training with our dedicated training provider and work-based learning at JCB, alongside several placement periods within a dedicated business unit.
For the remaining time of the programme, you'll be based full-time at JCB, gaining valuable on-the-job experience in one of our business areas. You'll then complete your apprenticeship through a final practical assessment in the workplace, demonstrating the skills and knowledge you have developed throughout the programme.
When you join JCB, you'll enjoy a great package designed to reward, support and help you make the most of every day:
We also encourage our cohorts to network and get involved in our “NextGen” society.
Our goal is simple: to give every candidate the opportunity to perform at their best
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and are committed to an inclusive recruitment process. If you need any reasonable adjustments during the application or interview process, please contact recruitment@jcb.com and we’ll be happy to support you.
