Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd in Bedford is seeking a Mechanical Workshop & Installation Engineer to join our established engineering team. You will be responsible for the site installation of robotic and conveyor systems, and hands-on workshop work in Bedford and at UK client sites.

The role involves reading mechanical drawings, operating workshop machines, welding fabrications, and occasional weekend work. A full UK driving licence is required and travel expenses are paid.

Qualifications

• Background in mechanical engineering installation.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings.
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites in the UK (expenses paid).
• Counterbalance forklift licence an advantage, training provided.

Responsibilities

• Site installation of robotic and conveyor systems.
• Operate workshop machines including saw, pillar drill, lathe and milling machines.
• Cutting and assembling fabricated frames.
• Welding fabrications.
• Travel to customer sites in the UK.
• Very occasional work at weekends required.
• Paint completed fabrications.

Mechanical Workshop & Installation Engineer

My established client, based in Bedford, is looking to recruit a Mechanical Workshop & Installation Engineer to work within their experienced engineering team.

This is a fabulous opportunity for a candidate with relevant experience to join a forward thinking and established engineering team.

Role:

• The site installation of robotic and conveyor systems
• Operating workshop machines including saw, pillar drill, lathe and milling machines
• Cutting and assembling fabricated frames
• Welding fabrications
• Travel to customer sites in the UK
• Very occasional work at weekends required
• Painting completed fabrications

About you:

• Have a background in mechanical engineering installation
• Ability to read mechanical drawings
• A full UK driving licence is required
• You must be willing to travel to customer sites in the UK (expenses will be paid)
• A counterbalance forklift licence an advantage although not essential as my client can offer training
• Be happy to work a 40 hour week and work overtime as and when required.
• Be happy to work 70% of your time in the workshop (Bedford) and 30% at UK customer sites throughout the year.
