Job summary

Aggreko is seeking a Mechanical Workshop Engineer to join the Service & Repair team at our Lomondgate depot. You will fault-find, repair and load test diesel generators from 20-2000kVA and perform engine overhauls to keep fleets reliable in customer sites.

You should be time served or NVQ Level 3, with experience servicing large engines, strong organisational and communication skills, PC literacy, and a commitment to GSCS standards.

Qualifications

• Time served or NVQ Level 3 in engineering or mechanical subject.
• Experience servicing large engines (generators, HGV, plant equipment).
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• PC literacy including basic MS Office applications.
• Well organised and able to keep vehicle to GSCS standards.

Bring your energy to Aggreko as a Mechanical Workshop Engineer based in our Service & Repair team in our Lomondgate depot.

What you'll do as a Mechanical Workshop Engineer:

• Carry out fault finding, repairs, and load testing on diesel generators (20-2000kVA), including major engine overhauls
• Assess equipment condition on return from hire, completing upgrades, modifications, and improvements to maintain fleet quality
• Work across AC/DC electrical systems, supporting diagnostics, ECM programming, and control module configuration

You are:

• Time served apprentice or educated to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in an engineering/mechanical subject
• Experience servicing, repairing large engines (generators, HGV, plant equipment, agricultural machinery)
• Good organisational & communication skills
• Good level of PC literacy including basic MS Office applications
• Well organised and capable of keeping vehicle to GSCS standards
