Job summary

Aggreko plc, based in Lomondgate depot, is seeking a Mechanical Workshop Engineer to join the Service & Repair team. You will carry out hands-on servicing, maintenance, repairs and fault finding on diesel generators, and assist with basic installation and commissioning.

Ideal candidates are time-served apprentices or NVQ Level 3 in engineering, with experience servicing large engines, good organisation and communication skills, and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• Time served apprentice or NVQ Level 3 in engineering/mechanical subject.
• Experience servicing, repairing large engines (generators, HGV, plant equipment, agricultural machinery).
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Good level of PC literacy including MS Office applications.
• Well organised and capable of keeping vehicle to GSCS standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out fault finding, repairs, and load testing on diesel generators (20-2000kVA), including major engine overhauls.
• Assess equipment condition on return from hire, completing upgrades, modifications, and improvements to maintain fleet quality.
• Work across AC/DC electrical systems, supporting diagnostics, ECM programming, and control module configuration.

Job description

Bring your energy to Aggreko as a Mechanical Workshop Engineer based in our Service & Repair team in our Lomondgate depot. As a Mechanical Workshop Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out hands-on servicing, maintenance, repairs, and fault finding, while also getting involved in basic installation and commissioning.
