Job summary

Morgan Ryder Associates is seeking a Mechanical Test Technician to join a hands-on test team in a facility handling large-scale pump and engine systems. The role involves rigging, commissioning and rigorous testing to ensure performance before delivery to customers.

The ideal candidate will be mechanically capable, detail-oriented and comfortable with large industrial equipment, with a strong emphasis on safety and accuracy throughout testing processes.

Qualifications

• Essential: NVQ2 in Mechanical Engineering
• Mechanical capable with practical experience with large industrial equipment
• Good computer skills and eye for detail
• Strong safety-first approach

Responsibilities

• Rig pumps, motors and equipment within the test facility
• Connect pipework, valves and instrumentation
• Set up equipment for testing and commissioning
• Run pumps through a range of operating conditions
• Measure flow, pressure, temperature, vibration, speed, current, voltage and power
• Record and analyse test data using computer-based systems
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical colleagues to resolve issues
• Maintain high accuracy and workmanship throughout testing
