Job summary

H-Power, a UK clean-energy technology company, seeks a Mechanical Test Technician to join the Development and Verification team at the Dunsfold facility. You will build, test and commission HY-5 ammonia cracker technology, working directly with prototype equipment and gas systems to aid engineers in developing reliable solutions.

You will operate across lab, workshop and test environments, setting up instrumentation, monitoring data, and troubleshooting mechanical issues to push technology

Qualifications

• Practical experience in mechanical assembly or engineering testing.
• Experience with prototype development or hands-on technical environments.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and modify equipment.
• Familiarity with pipework, instrumentation or fluid systems is useful.

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble and modify prototype equipment, subsystems and test rigs.
• Support development testing and commissioning of HY-5 ammonia cracker.
• Set up instrumentation and monitor test data (pressure, temperature, flow).
• Investigate faults and troubleshoot mechanical issues with engineers.
• Record test results and contribute to improvements in equipment and methods.
