You will operate across lab, workshop and test environments, setting up instrumentation, monitoring data, and troubleshooting mechanical issues to push technology
Enjoy getting hands-on with engineering equipment, building test rigs and figuring out why things aren't working as expected?
H-Power is a UK clean-energy technology business developing innovative hydrogen and ammonia-based power systems, helping industries move away from traditional fossil fuels.
We're looking for a practical, mechanically minded Mechanical Test Technician to join the Development and Verification team, supporting the build, testing and commissioning of H-Power's HY-5 ammonia cracker technology.
This isn't a repetitive testing role. You'll work directly with prototype equipment, reactor assemblies and gas systems, helping engineers develop, troubleshoot and improve technology before it moves into operation.
What makes this opportunity interesting?
You’ll spend your time across laboratory, workshop and test environments, getting involved in a variety of hands-on engineering activities.
Your work will include:
You’ll have the opportunity to see how your work directly influences the development of H-Power's technology, rather than simply following established production or testing procedures.
What experience will you need?
We're interested in people with practical experience in mechanical assembly, engineering testing, prototype development or similar hands-on technical environments.
You’ll need to be comfortable working with engineering drawings, building or modifying equipment and investigating mechanical faults.
Some familiarity with pipework, instrumentation, fluid systems or measurement equipment would be useful.
An engineering apprenticeship, NVQ, BTEC, HNC/HND or equivalent practical experience would be relevant.
You don't need previous hydrogen or gas systems experience. Full gas-safety and product training will be provided.
Due to the location of H-Power's Dunsfold facility, access to your own transport is essential.
