Job summary

CDM Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Test Technician in Newcastle Upon Tyne to join a client- side engineering group. You will perform final testing across fibre optic, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems to ensure full functionality.

The role offers a long-term agency contract with a potential permanent offer, a heavy engineering environment that is clean, modern and slow-paced, and autonomy within a small team. Training is provided up to 2 years.

Qualifications

• Ideally you have 5+ years of experience in a similar engineering or maintenance role.

Mechanical Test Technician (Newcastle Upon Tyne)

CDM is recruiting for Mechanical Test Technicians for a client in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all systems are fully functional throughout the entire product.

Training & Work Environment

• Up to 2 years of training in various forms of testing is provided.
• Work in a heavy engineering environment that is very clean, modern, quiet and slow‑paced.
• Enjoy autonomy within a small team without micro‑management.

Employment

This is a long‑term agency role expected to last at least 4 years, with the possibility—but not guarantee—of a permanent offer.

Compensation

Basic salary £45,281 (inclusive of shift allowance) / £21.77ph

Shift Pattern

• Day shift: 06:45 – 18:45
• Night shift: 18:45 – 06:45
