Job summary

A leading manufacturing organization in Skelmersdale is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join their day shift maintenance team. This hands-on role focuses on maintaining the reliability of critical machinery through preventative and predictive maintenance strategies. Key responsibilities include coordinating maintenance activities, providing mechanical troubleshooting support, and mentoring junior team members. Candidates should have a recognized engineering apprenticeship and experience in manufacturing environments. Strong communication skills and familiarity with CMMS are essential.

Qualifications

• Completed a recognised mechanical or multi-skilled engineering apprenticeship.
• Experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, or process environments.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting with automated production equipment.
• Experience planning and organizing maintenance activities.
• Familiarity with maintenance planning and reporting CMMS systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate mechanical maintenance activities across the site.
• Provide mechanical troubleshooting support to operational teams.
• Monitor and drive key mechanical maintenance KPIs.
• Use a CMMS system to manage and record maintenance work.
• Support and mentor junior technicians and apprentices.
