Job summary

RHL Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Technician to support site operations near Garelochhead. You will perform routine maintenance, respond to equipment issues and ensure safe, efficient operation while following safety procedures.

The role involves onsite work, PPE compliance, and participation in on-call duties. Relevant mechanical qualifications and a proactive, team-focused approach are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent in a relevant engineering craft/technician discipline.
• Examples include SVQ Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations; SVQ Level 2 (QPE007 - Forming & Assembling Pipework Systems); Level 3 BTEC Mechanical Maintenance; SVQ3 Mechanical Maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance, planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and corrective works to site mechanical equipment.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnose faults and complete repairs or arrange replacements.
• Fit and assemble mechanical components using appropriate machinery and hand tools.
• Complete job documentation accurately (e.g., Job Request Sheets, Planned Maintenance Cards) and keep line management updated on progress.
• Carry out checks, quality inspections and support calibration activities where required.
• Join a rostered on-call team and support short-notice overtime when operationally necessary.
