Job summary

NMS Recruit Ltd t/a Russell Taylor Group is recruiting for a Mechanical Technician to join a safety-critical fuel storage and distribution site in Garelochhead. You will carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance, fault finding and repairs to ensure reliability and compliance.

The role requires a mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent, and a willingness to undertake specialist training, on‑call duties and overtime.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering qualification / completed apprenticeship
• Experience in mechanical maintenance, repair and fault finding
• Industrial or safety-critical experience is desirable
• Good understanding of PPM and safe working procedures
• Willingness to undertake specialist training, on-call duties and overtime

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance
• Fault finding and repairing mechanical equipment
• Overhauling and replacing components
• Fitting and assembling mechanical equipment
• Completing PPMs, inspections and maintenance records
• Responding to equipment breakdowns and supporting emergency activities
• Working within strict Permit to Work, H&S and process safety procedures
• Undertaking confined space work following specialist training
• Participating in an on-call rota and occasional short-notice overtime
