Job summary

Based at Hatfield Hyde, this full-time Mechanical Technician post supports maintenance at Mill Green STW. The successful applicant will keep waste treatment equipment safe and operational through planned and reactive work.

Duties include investigating plant failures, diagnosing complex faults, and completing repairs promptly to prevent process disruption. Proactive servicing and inspection of machinery form a key part of the position.

Qualifications

• ONC/HNC in engineering or equivalent required.
• NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical engineering preferred.
• Strong mechanical fitting and fault-finding abilities; able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Investigate plant failures and perform repairs quickly to avoid process interruptions.
• Provide technical advice and refer to up-to-date knowledge; train or support technical trainees if needed.
• Work on equipment such as motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, and control gear.
• Complete statutory checks and always follow Health and Safety guidance and procedures.
