Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join a lab equipment manufacturer on a full-time basis. The role involves mechanical assembly, calibration, testing and maintaining workshop safety and equipment.

You will collaborate with Project Engineers and Design teams, handle pressure fittings and hydrostatic tests, and manage spares and documentation to meet quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a mechanically focused role.
• A vocational or academic technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience assembling pressure fittings and joints, manipulating tubing and working with extrusion equipment.
• Strong practical skills and manual dexterity, with the ability to use tools safely and accurately to assemble components such as manifolds for fluid and gas flow.
• Computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical assembly of labratory equipment in accordance with work instructions and assembly documentation, ensuring all work meets required quality and external certification standards.
• Work closely with Project Engineers and the Design team to ensure equipment is safely assembled, tested and ready for operation.
• Calibrate pressure fittings and carry out hydrostatic testing of pressure vessels, accurately documenting results in line with internal and external procedures.
• Maintain workshop equipment and work areas in a safe, clean and operational condition, including completing weekly equipment safety checks.
• Manage stock levels of preventative maintenance spares for workshop equipment, ensuring essential parts are available when required.
