Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking a Production Technician (electromechanical) in Cambridge. The role focuses on electromechanical assembly and testing of high-precision products used in defence, security, and industrial markets.

The successful candidate will join an established team and contribute to the manufacture, testing, and documentation of complex assemblies. The position requires an engineering qualification or equivalent experience, strong electronics knowledge, and hands-on skills with SMT

Qualifications

• A formal engineering qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
• Solid understanding of electronic fundamentals.
• Proven troubleshooting, fault finding, and debugging skills.
• SMT soldering to 0201 and PCB repair experience.
• Wiring and cable and harness assembly experience.
• Proficient in the use of standard test equipment including oscilloscopes, DVMs, and signal generators.
• Ability to read schematic designs.
• Working knowledge of PCB design software.
• Basic experience with SolidWorks or another mechanical design software package.
• Understanding of cleanroom techniques for opto-mechanical assembly.
• Computer literate with good attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Basic understanding of analogue and digital video processing (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Electromechanical assembly and test of high-precision products, ranging from cable assemblies through to full system builds.
• Manufacture and testing of mechanical, optical, and electronic assemblies.
• Component-level fault finding, troubleshooting, and debugging.
• SMT soldering to 0201 and PCB repair.
• Wiring and cable and harness assembly.
• Use of standard test equipment including oscilloscopes, DVMs, and signal generators.
• Reading and interpreting schematic designs.
• Assembly work within cleanroom environments using appropriate opto-mechanical techniques.
• Accurate recording and documentation of assembly and test outcomes.
