We’re looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join the INEOS Acetyls Team

The opportunity

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing cost-effective engineering and maintenance plans for assets at the Hull Site, aiming for safe, reliable, high-rate operations.

INEOS performs mechanical plant maintenance with an in-house team, led by a Maintenance supervisor, a Mechanical Engineer, and a Maintenance coordinator. All maintenance activities are recorded, planned, and executed via a SAP system.

This role offers potential development opportunities to gain plant assurance experience and progress into supervisory or coordinator roles.

Key accountabilities
  • Monitor, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot equipment performance
  • Provide suggestions on equipment performance and issues
  • Manage spares in coordination with the Maintenance team
  • Perform laser alignment of rotating equipment
  • Practice preventative maintenance using specialised equipment
  • Record maintenance activities electronically using SAP, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Work within Control of Work systems and with SSO’s
  • Supervise and coordinate work, including contractors and service providers
  • Assist in leak sealing activities
  • Support HP Jetting activities; training available
About you

Ideally, you have experience in the process or petrochemical industry, familiar with Control of Work and COMAH sites.

You should be ONC qualified in an engineering-related subject, with experience in line management and maintenance teams.

Strong organisational skills to manage jobs from start to finish, ability to work independently and with minimal supervision, and excellent communication skills are essential.

A solid understanding of Mechanical Engineering principles is required, including:

  • Pumps and their applications
  • Hand valves, types, repair
  • Joint repair, gasketing, bolting
  • Centrifugal and reciprocating compressors
  • Additional advantageous knowledge: Leak sealing, HP Jetting, Oil analysis, Vibration analysis, Laser alignment, Thermography, small bore pipe installation
  • Steam distribution systems, heat tracing

You should be open to attending internal and external training courses to maintain or develop your competencies.
