The Hire Place LLP, established over 30 years ago, is a trusted plastics manufacturer offering secure employment and long-term careers. They now seek a Mechanical Technician to support the Tooling Team in a growing operation.

You will assemble and change tooling, perform clean down, monitor tooling condition, report defects, and assist with maintenance and tooling record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical service, maintenance or basic repairs.
• Hands-on with hand-tools and related equipment.
• Transferable skills accepted; formal qualifications would be a bonus.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems.
• Excellent problem-solving with attention to detail and reporting.

Responsabilités

• Assemble and change production tooling.
• Clean down and prepare tooling for use.
• Analyse tooling condition and report defects or issues.
• Support in maintenance or upgrades as required.
• Update tooling maintenance records.

The business is recognised as a trustworthy and respected manufacturer of plastics within its Industry. Established over 30 years ago the company offers employees secure employment and longevity of service. As part of their ongoing growth, they now have an opportunity for a Mechanical Technician to support the Tooling Team.

THE ROLE:

Supporting the Tooling Team with tool changes, cleaning and maintenance activities to ensure continuity and minimum disruption to production. Duties will include:

• Assembly and changing of production tooling.
• Clean down.
• Analysis of tooling condition and reporting of defects and issues.
• Support in any required maintenance or upgrades.
• Updating of tooling maintenance records

THE CANDIDATE:

• Previous experience in a "Mechanical" role, servicing, maintaining or carrying out basic repairs (open to industry or mechanical application).
• Use of hand-tools and associated equipment.
• Relevant qualifications would be a benefit, but transferable skill set is more important.
• General duties can be trained, but applicants will need some abilities and knowledge around mechanical systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills along with attention to detail and pride in their work.
• Strong communication and reporting skills
