About The Role
Be Part of Something New – Join Skelton Grange as a Mechanical TechnicianThis is your chance to get in at the ground level of something big. Skelton Grange is our newest state-of-the-art energy-from-waste facility – and it’s just becoming operational.
As a Mechanical Technician, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of this brand-new site. From day one, you’ll be hands-on with cutting-edge equipment and systems, helping to embed safe, efficient, and proactive maintenance practices that set the standard for years to come.What Will You Be Doing?As a Mechanical Technician, you’ll tackle a mix of planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance across all mechanical systems. Your focus: ensuring the plant operates at peak performance while meeting the highest safety and compliance standards.
Expect plenty of variety in your day-to-day, including:
Planning and co-ordinating daily mechanical maintenance tasks, as well as supporting outage scheduling and execution.
Getting hands-on with mechanical equipment – carrying out diagnostics, repairs, modifications, and installations.
Taking part in technical investigations and safety reviews, helping to identify root causes and long-term solutions.
Preparing and managing work control packs using our maintenance management system, ensuring smooth workflow and strong documentation.
Logging all activity using a maintenance reporting system to build a full maintenance history and highlight future needs.
Interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and specifications to deliver effective maintenance and repairs.
Being part of our emergency response team – providing off-duty cover and responding to urgent plant issues when needed.
