Job summary

Recruit Mint is seeking a Mechanical Technician for a market-leading manufacturer in Bar Hill, UK. You will read technical drawings, assemble and weld small bore tubing and components to precise tolerances.

You will perform mechanical assembly, pipe preparation, and testing, with training provided for vacuum, stress and pressure tests. Monday to Friday day shift, with early finish on Fridays.

Qualifications

Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings.
Experience with measuring tools, vernier calipers, pipe cutters and benders.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to precise tolerances.
Mechanical aptitude; a mechanical qualification is advantageous (graduates considered).
Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Read and work from technical drawings.
Assemble and weld small bore tubing and components to precise specifications (within 0.5mm).
Perform mechanical assembly and pipe preparation while adhering to cleanroom protocols.
Conduct vacuum, stress, and pressure testing (training provided).
Undertake assembly and testing tasks at client sites as required.
Liaise with Production Manager or Supervisor to provide status updates and suggest improvements.
Maintain a safe and tidy work area and follow health and safety procedures.

Location:Bar Hill

Hours:Monday to Friday Day Shift (early finish on a Friday 12:30pm)

Due to continued growth, our client, a market leading manufacturer based in Bar Hill are currently looking for Mechanical Technicians to join their team.

Job Responsibilities

Comprehensively read, understand, and work from technical and engineering drawings
Assemble and weld small bore tubing and associated mechanical components to precise specifications (within 0.5mm)
Perform mechanical assembly and pipe preparation tasks while adhering to cleanroom protocols
Conduct vacuum, stress, and pressure testing to ensure product integrity and quality. (Training will be provided for these tasks)
Be prepared to undertake assembly and testing tasks at client or customer sites as required
Regularly liaise with the Production Manager or Supervisor to provide updates on the status of goods, highlight any challenges, and suggest improvements
Maintain a safe and tidy work area, adhering to all health and safety procedures

Person Specification

In to be successful in the role of Mechanical Technician, you must:

Be able to read technical drawings
Have previous experience with measuring tools, vernier callipers, pipe cutters and benders
Possess excellent attention to detail and capable of working to precise tolerances
Ideally have a strong mechanical aptitude, a mechanical qualification/background would be advantageous (Graduates considered)
Have good communication and the ability to work successfully as part of a team
