Job summary

Recruit Mint is seeking a Mechanical Technician for a leading manufacturer in Bar Hill. Immediate start. You will read drawings, assemble and weld small bore tubing, and perform precise mechanical assembly in a controlled environment.

Hours are Monday to Friday with early finish on Friday. Overtime is paid; a range of benefits includes pension, private healthcare, life assurance, income protection, discount platforms, enhanced family leave, and a profit share scheme.

Qualifications

Ability to read technical drawings.
Experience with measuring tools and tolerances.
Precise workmanship and attention to detail.
Mechanical qualification advantageous (graduates considered).
Good communication and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
Assemble and weld small bore tubing and components to tight tolerances.
Perform mechanical assembly and pipe preparation following cleanroom protocols.
Conduct vacuum, stress and pressure tests; training provided.
Occasionally perform assembly/testing at client sites as needed.
Provide updates to Production Manager/Supervisor on status and issues.
Maintain a clean, safe work area adhering to health and safety rules.

Mechanical Technician

Job Title:Mechanical Technician

Type of Contract:Permanent

Location:Bar Hill

Hours:Monday to Friday Day Shift (early finish on a Friday 12:30pm)

Due to continued growth, our client, a market leading manufacturer based in Bar Hill are currently looking for Mechanical Technicians to join their team.

Job Responsibilities

Comprehensively read, understand, and work from technical and engineering drawings
Assemble and weld small bore tubing and associated mechanical components to precise specifications (within 0.5mm)
Perform mechanical assembly and pipe preparation tasks while adhering to cleanroom protocols
Conduct vacuum, stress, and pressure testing to ensure product integrity and quality. (Training will be provided for these tasks)
Be prepared to undertake assembly and testing tasks at client or customer sites as required
Regularly liaise with the Production Manager or Supervisor to provide updates on the status of goods, highlight any challenges, and suggest improvements
Maintain a safe and tidy work area, adhering to all health and safety procedures

Person Specification

In to be successful in the role of Mechanical Technician, you must:

Be able to read technical drawings
Have previous experience with measuring tools, vernier callipers, pipe cutters and benders
Possess excellent attention to detail and capable of working to precise tolerances
Ideally have a strong mechanical aptitude, a mechanical qualification/background would be advantageous (Graduates considered)
Have good communication and the ability to work successfully as part of a team
