  • Respond to maintenance alerts and potential issues proactively. Address defects, breakdowns, and operational changes promptly to ensure minimal disruption to operations. This may require troubleshooting mechanical issues, making temporary repairs, or escalating to more senior staff as needed.
  • Work closely with the operations and technical teams to assess plant performance and resolve defects. Provide clear, concise information to relevant managerial and technical staff about any ongoing issues, repairs, or modifications being made to plant equipment.
  • Provide out-of-hours support when necessary including being part of an out of hours on call rota. • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, ensuring all work complies with relevant industry regulations and safety standards. This includes risk assessments, isolating equipment before work begins, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations, particularly in relation to the handling of hazardous materials in the petrochemical or process industry.
  • Use the Maximo system to track work orders, log maintenance activities, and ensure all completed tasks are documented. This includes entering details of maintenance tasks, materials used, and time taken for each job. Regularly update the system to ensure that asset management records remain current and accurate.

  • Strong mechanical knowledge, particularly in relation to pumps, valves, compressors, and other essential mechanical systems. You should be able to troubleshoot and repair mechanical faults effectively and ensure equipment operates at optimal performance.
  • Ability to work independently and respond to out-of-hours maintenance emergencies, including understanding the urgency and prioritization of repairs.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular hours, including emergency call-outs and on-site troubleshooting during plant incidents.
