Job summary

Aeropeople Ltd has partnered with a global designer and manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices and is seeking a permanent Mechanical Technician based at their Stansted site. The role requires on-site presence five days a week and involves maintaining safety equipment, testing, fault-finding and repair work.

The ideal candidate will hold GCSEs in Maths and English and have OEM maintenance training, with prior workshop experience.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English, minimum standard.
• Maintenance training for safety equipment is preferred.
• Experience in an engineering/workshop environment.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, test, fault-find and repair safety equipment (slides/rafts and sub components).
• Reassemble equipment in accordance with manuals and OEM packing instructions.

Job Title: Mechanical Technician

Salary: Negotiable

Location: Stansted, Essex

Aeropeople have partnered with a global designer and manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices who are now looking to hire a permanent Mechanical Technician, to be based at their site in Stansted. The successful candidate would be expected to be on site 5 days per week.

They are a leading global provider of industrial technology solutions serving a diverse set of attractive niche markets, recognised as a global provider of third-party MRO services to commercial, regional and general aviation customers as well as military, helicopter and business jet markets.

As a global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices they offer specialised services for more than 5,000 components over a variety of aircraft systems with capabilities covering aircraft windings, electrical power, hydraulic components, landing gear and safety equipment’s.

This role is working a 39 hour week. Hours of work are Monday- Thursday: 8am- 4.30pm and Friday: 8am- 4pm.

Main Responsibilities

• Disassemble, test, fault find and repair various safety equipment for slides, rafts and their sub components.
• Reassemble a variety of safety equipment, slides, rafts and their sub components in accordance with CMM’s / OHM’s and OEM packing instructions.

About You

• Numerate and literate – minimum GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English
• OEM training in maintenance and overhaul of safety equipment (highly desirable)
• Experience of repairing and packing aircraft safety equipment (highly desirable).
• Previous experience of working in an engineering/ workshop environment (highly desirable)
• Prior experience of interpreting and following in detail compliance manuals.
• Working within a small team of skilled fitters, reliability, flexibility and team work are key skill requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build close-knit relationships
• Strong organisation skills and excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and multi task whilst maintaining a high degree of quality, workmanship and compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Strong communicator (written and verbal)
• Positive, enthusiastic, confident and motivated
