Job summary

Airswift is recruiting a Mechanical Technician in Aberdeen for a 12-month assignment. You will focus on inspection, repair and maintenance of pneumatic tooling, hydraulic and mechanical equipment, supporting safe and compliant operations throughout the asset lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Technical apprenticeship or equivalent required.
  • Full driving licence required.
  • Good working knowledge of pneumatic tooling.
  • Good working knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and use own initiative.
  • Effective communication with team members.
  • Strong commitment to safe working practices at all times.
  • Collaborative across disciplines in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Flexible approach to meet project needs.
  • Willingness to work a flexible working week.

Responsibilities

  • Support the operations function by helping to ensure plant and equipment remains fit for service with validated certification.
  • Carry out inspection, service, repair and maintenance activities in line with company procedures.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety on site.
  • Promote safe working practices through tool box talks and risk assessments.
  • Inspect, repair and maintain a wide variety of mechanical and hydraulic plant and equipment within authorised limits.
  • Report and document faults to required standards and timeframes.
  • Assist with safe loading and unloading of equipment when required.
  • Work on site or support other depots for operational cover where needed.
  • Follow local work procedures across sites or depots.
  • Repair and test customer-owned equipment.
  • Carry out backload inspections and minor repairs.
  • Identify and report faults and repair costs found in tooling returned from customers.
  • Undertake product training as required.
  • Comply with environmental policy, safety plans, approved processes and SES procedures.
  • Attend daily pre-start toolbox talks and safety briefings.
  • Participate in safety and observation card schemes.
  • Carry out other reasonable duties requested by management.

Job description

Job Title: Mechanical Technician

Duration: 12 Months

Location: Aberdeen

This opportunity is with an industry-leading global EPC contractor supporting the energy transition and delivering consulting services across the full asset lifecycle, alongside next generation project delivery and execution services. The role focuses on inspection, repair and maintenance of plant equipment, pneumatic tooling, and hydraulic and mechanical equipment, helping to keep operations safe, compliant and fit for service. This position offers the chance to contribute to maintenance excellence within a technically demanding engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the operations function by helping to ensure plant and equipment remains fit for service with validated certification.
  • Carry out inspection, service, repair and maintenance activities in line with company procedures.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety through actions, behaviour and communication on site.
  • Promote safe working practices through tool box talks and risk assessments.
  • Inspect, repair and maintain a wide variety of mechanical and hydraulic plant and equipment within authorised limits and experience.

Required Education & Certifications
  • Technical apprenticeship or equivalent (Required)
