Job summary

NRL Group in Scotland is seeking a Maintenance Technician for an initial 3-month temporary contract, with potential to become permanent for the right candidate. You will support MAE and equipment maintenance, improve reliability, and contribute to continuous improvement in a drive and control technology environment.

Shift patterns include 12-hour continental shifts 4 on, 4 off, or 37-hour Mon-Fri days/back/night.

Qualifications

  • ONC/HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) is required.
  • Solid understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Flexible and adaptable with a proactive approach.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain knowledge of MAE and maintenance techniques to deliver efficient service.
  • Share information with the team to support shared objectives and effectiveness.
  • Use expertise to improve MAE reliability through proactive planning and execution.
  • Generate and share improvement ideas to optimise performance.
  • Identify and eliminate root causes of unplanned downtime.
  • Complete planned maintenance tasks to a high standard.
  • Detect common faults and propose practical solutions.
  • Reduce waste and inefficiencies through planned activity.
  • Maintain knowledge of CNC and general engineering machinery.

Summary

NRL is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our client’s team on an initial 3-month temporary contract, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with strong engineering knowledge and problem-solving skills who wants to contribute to improving equipment performance and reliability. You would be joining one of the world’s leading specialists in the field of drive and control technologies. The company supplies customers with tailored solutions for driving, controlling, and moving industrial applications, factory automation equipment, mobile applications, and renewable power generation.

  • Competent in Microsoft Office products.
  • Solid understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Flexible and adaptable with a proactive approach.
  • Resilient and able to manage pressure effectively.
Nice-to-have Skills
