Job summary

NES Group Ltd in Teesside is seeking a senior Mechanical Technical Authority to provide site-wide leadership, governance and asset integrity assurance for a major chemical manufacturing site.

You will own mechanical engineering standards, lead mechanical integrity of pressure systems and rotating equipment, and guide projects, MOC and compliance with COMAH and PSSR. A Chartered pathway is preferred and extensive senior-technical experience is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• CEng or working towards Chartered status is preferred.
• 10+ years experience in chemical, petrochemical, energy or similar high-hazard environments.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical integrity and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical engineering standards, specifications and technical assurance.
• Lead mechanical integrity across pressure systems, piping and fixed/rotating equipment.
• Oversee asset integrity, reliability, RBI, corrosion and safety-critical equipment.
• Provide technical input into MOC, CAPEX, projects and contractor activities.
• Support COMAH, PSSR and relevant engineering standards and legislation.
• Lead technical investigations, root cause analysis and engineering improvements.
• Act as senior mechanical SME, mentoring across the site.

We're working with a leading chemical manufacturing business to recruit a Mechanical Technical Authority to provide site-wide mechanical engineering leadership, technical governance and asset integrity assurance.

Key Responsibilities

• Own mechanical engineering standards, specifications and technical assurance.
• Lead mechanical integrity across pressure systems, piping and fixed/rotating equipment.
