Job summary

NES Fircroft is working with a leading chemical manufacturing business to recruit a Mechanical Technical Authority to provide site-wide mechanical leadership, technical governance and asset integrity assurance at a major Teesside site. The role requires a Degree in Mechanical Engineering, CEng or working towards Chartered status, and 10+ years of experience in high-hazard environments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• CEng or working towards Chartered status.
• 10+ years in chemical, petrochemical, energy or high-hazard environments.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical integrity, pressure systems and fixed/rotating equipment.
• Experience with COMAH, PSSR and relevant standards.
• Strong technical leadership and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical engineering standards, specifications and technical assurance.
• Lead mechanical integrity across pressure systems, piping and fixed/rotating equipment.
• Oversee asset integrity, reliability, RBI, corrosion and safety-critical equipment.
• Provide technical input into MOC, CAPEX, projects and contractor activities.
• Support COMAH, PSSR and relevant engineering standards and legislation.
• Lead technical investigations, root cause analysis and engineering improvements.
• Act as a senior mechanical SME, providing guidance and mentoring across the site.

• Own mechanical engineering standards, specifications and technical assurance.
• Lead mechanical integrity across pressure systems, piping and fixed/rotating equipment.
• Oversee asset integrity, reliability, RBI, corrosion and safety-critical equipment.
