Job summary

BAE Systems in Rochester is seeking a Mechanical Team Leader to guide a team of engineers in development, integration, and operation of mechanical systems. You will oversee project estimation, tracking, and execution to ensure success across multiple programs.

You will lead design reviews, resource planning, and bid support while maintaining adherence to policies and delivering high-quality engineering solutions for avionic and display systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent qualifications/experience.
• Proven track record in product development from concept to production.
• Previous experience in team leadership and/or project management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present Mechanical Development Plans and Design Scheme Data Packs for internal and customer reviews.
• Peer-check the work of other mechanical engineers, including designs, calculations, and technical reports.
• Chair design review panels at both functional and project levels.
• Prepare project plans, direct team implementation, and monitor progress against budgets.
• Devise and maintain resource plans, managing the allocation of Mechanical Engineering resources.
• Support new bids by preparing estimates and generating proposals.
• Conduct Performance and Development Reviews for the Mechanical Engineering Team.
• Ensure adherence to departmental and company policies and procedures.
