Cadillac Formula 1 is preparing for the 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship. We are building a high-performance team at our Silverstone facility and are seeking a Mechanical Systems Designer. The role involves designing components and assemblies for car sub-systems, primarily focusing on Cooling, Fuel, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, and Exhaust Systems, as well as other Powertrain activities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creating schemes, layouts, and detailed drawings of car parts with a focus on accuracy.
  • Owning your design areas, troubleshooting, and implementing solutions based on rig/track feedback.
  • Collaborating with internal departments, partners, and suppliers.
  • Balancing performance, reliability, and cost considerations.
  • Staying updated with industry developments.
  • Supporting sustainable manufacturing practices that do not compromise performance.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering or related field, 2:1 or higher preferred.
  • Experience with high-end CAD systems, preferably Catia/3DX.
  • Understanding of race car system principles and physics.
  • Design experience in Powertrain, Cooling, Fuel, or Hydraulic systems, ideally in motorsport.
  • Interest in innovation and new technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools.
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
