Job summary

Gov Facilities Services Limited (GFSL) is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor (Plumbing) at HMP Swaleside to lead a skilled team and ensure reliable utility services within the prison. The role requires NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, at least five years in FM/secure environments, and strong health & safety knowledge.

You will oversee heating, water, and building services, while maintaining compliance and safeguarding staff and inmates.

Qualifications

• Five years' experience in FM or secure environments ideally (military/health).
• Experience with commercial/industrial heating and water systems.
• Familiar with Water Supply Regulation and Legionella L8 requirements.
• Good Health & Safety knowledge and protocols.
• Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
• Strong risk, compliance and project management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical maintenance team at HMP Swaleside, including Plumbers, Electricians and others.
• Ensure safe and secure operation, regulatory compliance and effective service delivery.
