Job summary

Construction Hoddesdon-based client seeks an experienced Mechanical Supervisor with pipefitting background to oversee planned works and maintenance in the water sector. You will lead installations, assess site safety, and guide a team on complex mechanical tasks.

Role requires hands-on site engineering experience, strong communication, and CSCS/EUSR/PASMA/IPAF certifications. Excellent planning and reporting will ensure successful project delivery and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Maths required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out on-site dynamic risk assessments, identify health and safety hazards, and ensure operatives adhere to safety procedures.
• Lead mechanical site installations, fault-finding, and technical problem-solving.
• Plan daily site activities, allocate team skill sets, and provide technical guidance to ground operatives.
• Liaise directly with client contacts and Project Managers to address planning or access issues.
• Conduct site surveys, inspections, and maintain accurate daily site logs.
• Manage stock levels of consumables and ensure all near misses, accidents, and non-conformances are reported.

Job Title: Mechanical Supervisor / Pipefitter Supervisor

Salary: 20 - 23 per hour

Mechanical Supervisor Responsibilities

Mechanical / Pipefitter Supervisor Requirements

• Education: GCSEs (or equivalent standard) in English and Maths.

• Qualifications: Completed a modern apprenticeship or equivalent in engineering.

• Technical Background: Proven hands-on site engineering experience with strong working knowledge of pipework, screens, pumps, and motors.

• Certifications: CSCS card (or equivalent) required. EUSR Water & Sewage, PASMA, IPAF, Confined Space (High Risk), and Abrasive Wheels are preferred.

• Attributes: Self-motivated team player with strong communication skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
