Job summary

DC Solution is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor / Pipefitter Supervisor for Hoddesdon, UK. The role focuses on overseeing planned project works and maintenance programmes within the water industry, offering stability and clear progression in a supportive work culture.

The candidate will lead mechanical site installations, perform fault-finding, and coordinate with Project Managers while ensuring health and safety compliance on site.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Maths required.
• Completed a modern apprenticeship or equivalent in engineering.
• Hands-on site engineering experience with pipework, screens, pumps and motors.
• Certifications: CSCS card; EUSR Water & Sewage, PASMA, IPAF, Confined Space (High Risk) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out on-site dynamic risk assessments and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Lead mechanical site installations, fault-finding and technical problem-solving.
• Plan daily site activities and allocate team skill sets.
• Liaise with client contacts and Project Managers to resolve planning or access issues.
• Conduct site surveys, inspections and maintain daily site logs.
• Manage stock levels of consumables and report near misses and non-conformances.

Salary: £20 - £23 per hour

Mechanical Supervisor Responsibilities

• Carry out on-site dynamic risk assessments, identify health and safety hazards, and ensure operatives adhere to safety procedures.
• Lead mechanical site installations, fault-finding, and technical problem-solving.
• Plan daily site activities, allocate team skill sets, and provide technical guidance to ground operatives.
• Liaise directly with client contacts and Project Managers to address planning or access issues.
• Conduct site surveys, inspections, and maintain accurate daily site logs.
• Manage stock levels of consumables and ensure all near misses, accidents, and non-conformances are reported.

Mechanical / Pipefitter Supervisor Requirements

• Education: GCSEs (or equivalent standard) in English and Maths.
• Qualifications: Completed a modern apprenticeship or equivalent in engineering.
• Technical Background: Proven hands-on site engineering experience with strong working knowledge of pipework, screens, pumps, and motors.
• Certifications: CSCS card (or equivalent) required. EUSR Water & Sewage, PASMA, IPAF, Confined Space (High Risk), and Abrasive Wheels are preferred.
• Attributes: Self-motivated team player with strong communication skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
