Job summary

Emtec Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to lead the on-site delivery of mechanical works across Scotland. Based in Dundee, you will supervise operatives and subcontractors, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to programme.

You will coordinate resources, lead safety and quality inspections, and attend meetings with clients and main contractors while upholding high standards of workmanship.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supervising mechanical works on construction projects.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• SSSTS Health & Safety qualification is essential.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities to tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of mechanical works from start to completion on site.
• Supervise on-site operatives and subcontractors, coordinating activities.
• Ensure works are safe, on time, and within budget and programme.
• Attend client, consultant and main contractor meetings and provide updates.
• Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and regular quality and safety inspections.
• Support workforce planning and allocation of resources on site.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and site teams.

At Emtec Building Services, we’re continuing to grow our delivery teams to support an exciting and varied pipeline of projects across Scotland. As a nationwide M&E contractor with a strong in-house workforce, we’re now looking for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join us and play a key role on some genuinely interesting projects.

The Role

As Mechanical Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for the successful day‑to‑day delivery of mechanical works on site, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.

• Leading the delivery of projects from start through to completion.
• Supervising and coordinating on-site operatives and subcontractors.
• Ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently and in line with programme and budget.
• Upholding all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards at all times.
• Attending and contributing to client, consultant, and main contractor meetings.
• Delivering site inductions, toolbox talks and regular quality and safety inspections.
• Supporting workforce planning and allocation of resources on site.
• Building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients and site teams.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience supervising mechanical works on construction projects, ideally within an M&E contracting environment.
• Confident working independently, managing priorities, and meeting tight deadlines.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Practical problem-solver with sound decision‑making ability.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office packages.
• SSSTS Health & Safety qualification (essential).
