Job summary

ACTEMIUM Design, based in Chorley, England, United Kingdom, is seeking a Mechanical Stress Engineer to support nuclear and regulated sectors. You will perform detailed stress analyses, develop calculations for supports and equipment, and prepare comprehensive stress reports and documentation.

Required: degree in Mechanical Engineering, strong pipeline stress or seismic background, proficiency in CAESAR II and ANSYS, and a Chartered Engineer or progress toward CEng.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong background in pipeline stress calculations or seismic analysis.
• Proficient with CAESAR II and ANSYS for stress analysis.
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards professional registration.
• Experience in Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Energy, Utilities or Process industries.
• Knowledge of Eurocodes and seismic design methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed stress analysis and flexibility assessments using industry-standard software.
• Develop and verify engineering calculations for supports and mechanical equipment.
• Produce stress reports, calculation packages and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant design codes, standards and project specifications.
• Participate in design reviews, hazard studies and technical assurance activities.
• Support site investigations, troubleshooting and engineering modifications as required.
