Job summary

CBRE seeks an engineer to provide comprehensive maintenance at the Stevenage R&D site as part of the 24-hour shift team. The role supports the Technical Services Team Leader, ensuring regulatory compliance, safe plant operation, and prompt fault resolution.

You will monitor electrical and mechanical equipment, handle out-of-hours alarms, and contribute to continuous improvement while maintaining strict adherence to safety procedures and client policies.

Qualifications

• Experience with regulated environments and site maintenance is beneficial.
• Knowledge of safety, environmental and quality procedures is advantageous.
• Familiarity with GxP, COSHH, LOLER and PUWER regulations is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with shift team and ensure proper handover of critical alarms and issues.
• Attend to critical BMS alarms outside normal hours and escalate when needed.
• Assist with out-of-hours shutdowns to minimize plant downtime.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across the business.
• Participate in site emergency recovery and follow grab-pack procedures.
• Understand and implement site switching from generator to mains during outages.
• Maintain housekeeping to ensure equipment and areas are clean and compliant.
• Diagnose faults in electrical and mechanical equipment within your area of expertise.
• Ensure activities comply with CBRE and client policies and procedures.
• Operate and monitor plant and equipment using planned and reactive maintenance.

Job Purpose

To provide a comprehensive engineering service to the Stevenage R&D Site as part of the site 24-hour shift team.

Job Purpose

To provide a comprehensive engineering service to the Stevenage R&D Site as part of the site 24-hour shift team. Assist the Technical Services Team Leader on all works relating to operational matters, regulatory and statutory compliance. Ensure that you work to the clients Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety procedures and the Company IMS as it applies to the contract. To ensure maximum availability of engineering equipment utilizing safe, efficient, planned and reactive maintenance services including fault diagnosis and resolution. Advise on any delays to maintenance schedules or plant availability in a prompt and professional manner.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Effectively communicate with your shift team and ensure a diligent shift handover is completed to the oncoming shift, including any critical alarms and issues that need further investigation or escalation.
• Attend to all critical BMS alarms outside normal working hours, including bank holidays, ensuring they are recorded in the BMS critical alarm electronic log and escalated appropriately, especially where the clients operations could be impacted.
• Assist with all out-of-hours shutdown activities and ensure plant downtime is kept to a minimum.
• Identify and promote continuous improvement opportunities across the business.
• Participate in site emergency recovery outside core hours with full understanding of the site grab pack procedure.
• Fully understand and implement the site switching procedure from generator to mains in the event of a site power outage.
• Carry out housekeeping duties regularly in responsible areas to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and equipment/system integrity.
• Investigate, check, test, diagnose and rectify faults to a proven level of competency on both electrical and mechanical equipment within your area of expertise or experience.
• Ensure all activities are carried out safely and are in line with both CBRE and clients policies and procedures.
• Operate and monitor plant, services and equipment using safe, efficient, planned and engineering activities.
• Working knowledge of computer programs is essential (MS Office). Experience with Smartsheets, Teams and Excel would be advantageous.
• Ability to produce reports and maintain electronic records.
• Knowledge of GxP would be advantageous.
• Experience of a CMMS/CAFM system is required. Previous knowledge of EAM would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of COSHH, LOLER, PUWER regulations and other EHS legislation.
