Job summary

Tesco is seeking a Mechanical Service Maintenance Technician to cover Oxford and surrounding areas. You will maintain and repair a range of store equipment, respond to breakdowns, and ensure safety and compliance across sites.

In this hands-on role you’ll document work digitally, collaborate with operations teams, and participate in process improvements while progressing your career within a leading UK retailer.

Qualifications

• ONC or equivalent.
• Recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2/3.
• Full driving license.
• Health & Safety awareness.
• Communication & stakeholder management.
• Office 365 knowledge.
• Completed all technical training upskilling modules relevant to skillset.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance and repairs on Dock Levellers, DDLS systems, Scissor Lifts, Back Yard Gates (BYGs), Sectional Doors, Roller Shutters and Rapid Roll Doors.
• Respond to breakdowns swiftly and effectively to minimise downtime.
• Conduct inspections, testing and certification to ensure compliance and safe operation.
• Document all maintenance activity accurately using digital reporting tools.
• Collaborate with site operations teams to ensure work is performed safely and with minimal disruption.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance procedures.
