Overview

Mechanical Design Engineer / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Luton

Salary: £35,000 to £50,000 DOE

Responsibilities
  • Lead mechanical design across a range of developments
  • Develop detailed design drawings, reports, and specifications
  • Manage project delivery and support junior team members with technical guidance and mentorship
  • Liaise with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure design integrity and compliance
  • Coordinate closely with electrical, public health, and sustainability teams
  • Apply current building regulations, standards, and low-carbon design principles
What we’re looking for
  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Chartered or working toward Chartered Engineer status (CIBSE or equivalent)
  • Strong experience in mechanical building services design, particularly within healthcare projects
  • Proficient in software such as AutoCAD, Revit, IES
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
  • A proactive approach to sustainability and energy-efficient design solutions
