Job summary

Astute People's Power team is recruiting a Mechanical Quality Assurance Engineer for an Energy from Waste project in North London on a 24-month minimum contract. The role requires a Mechanical or Industrial degree with Welding and NDT knowledge and QA experience on heavy industrial projects.

You will develop QC plans, conduct inspections, maintain rigorous records, and ensure supplier and site testing aligns with ITPs. CSCS/CCNSG ticket is desirable, and IT literacy is essential.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or Industrial degree with Welding and NDT knowledge.
• QA experience in an energy or heavy industrial project.
• IT literate.
• CSCS/CCNSG ticket desirable.
• Experience in Energy from Waste construction projects or similar heavy industrial.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement quality control plans and procedures for mechanical works.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify defects or non-compliance with specifications.
• Revision of documentation and keeping registers and control on construction activity.
• Monitor installation/erection and inspections per ITP.
• Plan and organize inspection and testing activities at site using approved ITP forms.
• Maintain QC records and address RFIs for closure.
• Ensure external and internal testing schedules are conducted and test results reviewed for compliance.

Key skills

• Conduct regular inspections to identify any defects or non-compliance with specifications. This involves checking materials, equipment, and workmanship to ensure they meet the required standards.
• Documentation revision and keeping registers and control on the construction activity.
• Monitor of the appropriate installation/erection to be done and inspection to be performed on each activity according to the ITP.
• Planning and organizing inspection and testing activities at site using Inspection and Test forms approved.
• Maintain all QC records in an orderly and easily accessible manner and address properly RFIs for closure.
• Ensure that external and internal testing schedule conducted and test results are reviewed for compliance.
• Must hold a Mechanical or Industrial degree with Welding and NDT Method knowledge
• Must hold Quality Assurance experience in an energy or similar heavy industrial project
• Must be IT literate
• Must hold or willing to obtain a CSCS/CCNSG ticket.
• Candidates must have experience in Energy from Waste construction projects or similar heavy industrial.
