Mechanical Project Manager / Contracts Manager - Live Environment Projects

Location: London & South East

Salary: GBP70,000 - GBP85,000 + Package

We are recruiting on behalf of a respected and established M&E contractor known for delivering technically complex mechanical projects across the commercial, healthcare, and education sectors. Due to continued success and project awards, they are seeking a Mechanical Project Manager / Contracts Manager to lead multiple live environment projects.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced project leader who understands the demands of operating in occupied spaces and excels at building strong client relationships while delivering high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead mechanical works across multiple live environment projects from pre-construction to handover.
  • Manage daily site activities, subcontractors, and in-house teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Oversee health & safety, compliance, procurement, and commercial performance.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
  • Operate within active environments such as schools, hospitals, or office buildings with minimal disruption.
  • Support forecasting, resource planning, and contract administration.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
Requirements:
  • Experience managing mechanical packages in live environments.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent planning, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working with an M&E or mechanical contractor.
  • Understanding of HVAC, public health systems, and building services.
  • SMSTS / SSSTS and valid CSCS card preferred.
