Join to apply for the Mechanical Project Manager role at Padstone Recruitment Ltd.

We are seeking a mechanical project manager for a new build commercial development in Watford, overseeing a mechanical package worth 5 million, managing direct labour, subcontractors, and temporary labour.

The position is Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends, offering rates up to 350+ per day.

The projects primarily include sectors such as healthcare, education, commercial, local authorities, government, industrial, leisure, public defense, and retail.

Due to increased workload, we require a mechanical project manager to join our team and work onsite in Watford. The successful candidate will manage the project from the site but will also work in the office, liaising with the end client.

Responsibilities include:

• Site sign-in
• Maintaining daily diaries
• Populating and issuing RAMS
• Pipework materials take-offs
• Labour requirements planning
• Conducting toolbox talks
• Managing plant registers
• Quality assurance and inspections
• Wall and ceiling sign-offs
• PUWER/PASMA sign-offs
• Preparing progress reports
• Developing project programmes
• Procurement planning
• RFI management
• On-site coordination
• Conducting site meetings
• Dealing with subcontractors (BMS, ventilation, insulation, etc.)
• Planning and coordinating commissioning activities
• Preparing variations for the contracts manager
• Reviewing design information
• Weekly/fortnightly project reviews with contracts managers
• Multi-tasking across disciplines
• Using Excel, Word, AutoCAD, MS Project
• Managing as-built drawings
• Technical submittals
• Enforcing health and safety regulations
• Using 4Projects software

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum 2 years' experience managing mechanical packages in the commercial sector
• Degree preferred but not essential
• SMSTS or SSSTS qualification
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project
• First aid qualification is advantageous but not essential
