Mechanical Project Manager Northampton Contract/Permanent

Step Solutions are supporting an M&E Contractor who has an opportunity for a Mechanical Project Manager to oversee a £20mil project in Northampton.

You will have a proven track record in project management, particularly within the commercial sector or similar related projects with values between £10-£20 million.

Responsibilities:
  1. The primary focus of this role will include the overall supervision and performance of the operational project team to ensure that all activities meet the programme, cost, safety, and quality objectives of the Project.
  2. Overall responsibility for the Building Services installation on your projects.
  3. Deliver a quality installation, in line with client's expectations, maximise profitability, and control costs while maintaining standards.
  4. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed standards, managing project budgets and costs effectively.
  5. Manage staff performance on the project by ensuring they have clear roles and responsibilities.
  6. Promote Health & Safety at all times, ensuring risks are identified and mitigation measures are implemented.
  7. Share best practices and promote innovation.
  8. Be responsible for commissioning a smooth final handover.
Requirements:
  1. HNC/HND Building Services qualification or above (Desirable).
  2. CSCS Card.
  3. SMSTS.
  4. Mechanical qualification.
  5. Experience of working at management level on M&E projects.
  6. Ability and comfort in taking on large and complex packages of work.
  7. Knowledge of current construction practices and safety on site.
  8. Ability to evaluate and make decisions.
  9. Understanding of mechanical design principles.
