An established mechanical building-services contractor is looking to appoint a Mechanical Project Manager for a multi-phase development in Surrey.
The immediate focus will be the delivery of a new leisure centre, working alongside the Contract Manager responsible for both the leisure facility and an associated energy centre.
The leisure centre's mechanical package is valued at approximately £2.5 million, with works scheduled to begin in September and complete the following May. Further projects are being tendered across Surrey, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire, providing the opportunity to join a developing regional delivery team.
Permanent and contract appointments will both be considered.
The Role:
- Take day-to-day responsibility for delivering the mechanical package.
- Report directly to the Mechanical Contract Manager overseeing both projects.
- Manage procurement, subcontractors, labour and material schedules.
- Coordinate mechanical services with the electrical, construction and design teams.
- Monitor programme, costs, variations, quality and project risks.
- Manage technical submissions, RFIs, drawings and project documentation.
- Attend client, design and progress meetings.
- Oversee installation, testing, commissioning and handover.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and quality requirements.
- Work independently while maintaining clear communication with the wider project team.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience as a Mechanical Project Manager or Mechanical Project Engineer within a building-services contractor.
- Strong office-based project-management and coordination experience.
- Ability to independently manage a mechanical package of approximately £2.5 million.
- Commercial, high-end residential and wider building-services experience will all be considered.
- A practical mechanical background and previous experience on the tools would be welcomed.
- Strong procurement, programme and subcontractor-management capabilities.
- Confident working directly with clients, consultants and site teams.
- Project Engineers ready to progress into their first Project Manager position will also be considered.
- Ideally based in Surrey, Berkshire or Buckinghamshire.
What's On Offer?

- Discretionary bonus.
- Car allowance or company car, subject to package negotiation.
- Healthcare scheme.
- Pension with statutory employer contributions, subject to the scheme cap.
- 30 days' annual leave including bank holidays, with sufficient leave retained for the Christmas shutdown.
- Travel expenses covered.
- Permanent and contract options available.
- Accessible project location with convenient parking.
- Potential to progress onto further regional projects
