Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd. are seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Manager to lead large-scale mechanical projects across London, Essex and surrounding areas.

You will manage projects from inception through handover, conducting site surveys and coordinating with design and estimating teams. The role requires a strong background in commercial mechanical contracting, experience with AHUs, chillers, VRV/VRF, boilers and ductwork, and travel across the South of England.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience managing mechanical project delivery from inception through to completion.
• Experience delivering projects involving AHUs, VRV/VRF systems, ductwork, boilers, and chillers, including fit-outs and refurbishments.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from inception through handover, taking full ownership of the lifecycle.
• Conduct site visits and surveys to inform design and estimation.
• Collaborate with in-house design and estimating teams to prepare quotations and plans.
• Negotiate and purchase materials as required and supervise labour on site.
• Coordinate commissioning and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to high standards.

Mechanical Project Manager - Job Overview

A specialist Mechanical Contractor based in Essex, with over 10 years of industry experience, is looking for an additional Mechanical Project Manager to join their expanding Projects Division. The successful Mechanical Project Manager will be responsible for managing projects from initial inception through to final handover, taking full ownership of the project lifecycle. This will include conducting site visits and surveys, working with in-house design and estimating teams, preparing quotations, negotiating and purchasing materials, supervising labour, coordinating commissioning, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standards.

The Mechanical Project Manager will be responsible for delivering a range of large-scale mechanical projects, including:

• Air Handling Units (AHUs)
• Chillers
• VRV and VRF systems
• Boilers / Plant rooms
• Commercial Plumbing
• Ventilation systems

Projects will consist of a combination of fit-out works and live asset replacement projects, the projects will be delivered specifically across varied commercial portfolio of clients. Therefore, previous experience working within the commercial sector is essential. Project values will range from approximately £50,000 to £1 million.

The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical contracting background, proven experience managing projects from conception through to completion, and a solid understanding of delivering complex mechanical services within commercial environments.

Mechanical Project Manager - Job Requirements

• Proven experience managing the delivery of mechanical projects involving AHUs, VRV/VRF systems, ductwork, boilers, and chillers, including fit-outs, replacements, upgrades, and refurbishments.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience managing mechanical project delivery from inception through to completion.
• Computer literate, with strong proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Based in London or the surrounding areas, with a willingness to travel across the South of England to deliver projects across various regions.
