Job summary

Linea Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager for a leading MEP contractor in London/Dartford. You will deliver mechanical packages from pre-construction through to handover on projects valued £500k to £10m+, ensuring on-time delivery and budget adherence.

You will coordinate design and installation across trades, manage subcontractors, and maintain strong client relationships while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Proven project management experience in mechanical/building services.
• Strong MEP background with commercial fit-out or healthcare project exposure.
• Excellent client-facing and communication skills.
• Experience managing projects from £500k to £10m+ with budget control.
• SMSTS qualification and relevant mechanical certifications.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for delivering mechanical projects from pre-construction to handover.
• Manage programmes, commercial performance and delivery for multiple sites.
• Coordinate project teams, subcontractors and suppliers to meet milestones.
• Oversee design development, technical coordination and drawings reviews.
• Monitor variations, valuations and project costs to protect profitability.
• Ensure safety, quality and compliance on all sites.

Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 + package

We are working with a leading MEP / Building Services contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join their growing Projects Division.

The business delivers a range of technically challenging mechanical projects, with a strong pipeline across commercial fit-out and healthcare/NHS environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager looking to join an established contractor with long-term career progression and a strong order book.

The Role

As Mechanical Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of mechanical projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover.

Key responsibilities:

• Managing mechanical projects from £500k-£10m+


• Overall responsibility for programme, commercial performance and delivery


• Managing project teams, subcontractors and suppliers


• Coordinating mechanical services with electrical, construction and other trades


• Managing design development and technical coordination


• Reviewing drawings, specifications and project programmes


• Attending client, design and progress meetings


• Managing variations, valuations and project costs


• Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to specification


• Overseeing commissioning, snagging and final handover


• Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and project stakeholders

About You

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager with a strong background in building services and either commercial fit-out or NHS/healthcare projects.

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager


• Strong mechanical building services / MEP background


• Commercial fit-out or NHS/healthcare experience


• Experience managing projects from £500k upwards


• Strong understanding of mechanical services, design and installation


• Experience managing subcontractors and project teams


• Good commercial and contractual awareness


• Strong client-facing and communication skills


• SMSTS and relevant mechanical qualifications
