Job summary

ALTEN LTD - UK is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to support pressure systems compliance and structural integrity on a major engineering programme. This role acts as the link between engineering teams, suppliers, regulators and project stakeholders to ensure ongoing compliance.

You will coordinate compliance activities, manage technical queries, and ensure delivery of pressure systems and structural integrity requirements in line with codes, standards and safety case requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer or equivalent.
• Experience working on large-scale engineering projects or complex industrial assets.
• Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience within a highly regulated industry such as Nuclear, Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Defence or Aerospace.
• Understanding of pressure systems, mechanical equipment, or asset integrity.
• Ability to coordinate multiple technical activities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the development and maintenance of pressure systems compliance requirements across major projects.
• Coordinating technical activities to ensure pressure equipment remains compliant with relevant regulations and engineering standards.
• Managing interfaces between engineering teams, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
• Supporting structural integrity and pressure systems safety case requirements.
• Reviewing and coordinating technical documentation and engineering deliverables.
• Managing technical queries and compliance-related actions through to resolution.
• Supporting contract delivery and ensuring suppliers meet project requirements.
• Monitoring compliance activities and escalating risks where required.
• Working closely with subject matter experts to ensure industry codes and standards are correctly applied.
