An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join the University of Liverpool, a prestigious Russell Group university with 22,000 students and over 6,000 staff members.
You will report to the Senior Mechanical Engineer within the Engineering Services Group, led by the Head of Engineering Services, under the Estates Management Team and the Director of Estates and Infrastructure.
Your responsibilities will include supporting Facilities, Residential and Commercial Services in all construction and maintenance projects, overseeing projects managed by approved consultants and contractors across various value bands.
You will collaborate closely with Facilities, Residential and Commercial Services, Capital and Minor Works Project Managers, Mechanical/Electrical Consultants, and Maintenance Surveyors to ensure projects meet standards, are delivered on time and within budget, and adhere to the University’s health and safety policies.
You will also oversee or audit maintenance works by the University’s Measured Term Contractor to ensure quality and technical standards are maintained.
Additionally, you will assist Project Managers, Building, and Quantity Surveyors during the commissioning and handover processes to ensure facilities are fit for purpose upon handover to departments and FRCS.
Applicants should hold a recognized Mechanical Services qualification (e.g., NVQ 4, HNC).
This is a permanent, full-time position, working 35 hours per week.
