Job summary

Bennett And Game Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join a Somerset-based provider of design, fabrication and installation services for pharmaceutical and FMCG environments. You will manage projects from inception to completion, interfacing with clients and coordinating site trades.

The role requires hands-on experience with fabrication/pipework, steam, chilled water and compressed air systems, plus AutoCAD and MS Office proficiency. Full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Prev. experience as Project Engineer or client-facing role.
• Mechanical/industry experience essential.
• Knowledge of steam, chilled water, and compressed air systems.
• Process pipework experience essential.
• IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
• Based in Somerset; full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Attend to clients' needs on and off site, overseeing projects end-to-end.
• Prepare and quote job requirements, obtain approval from Regional Director.
• Develop client relationships to secure ongoing projects.
• On-site management, coordinating and supervising tradespeople.
• Manage resources per project budget, control costs and ensure quality.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards.
• Work at client sites across Somerset and the South West.

Position: Mechanical Project Engineer

Location: Somerset

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 DOE

My client is a leading provider of Design, Fabrication and Installation / Relocation services, predominantly focused on Pharmaceutical and FMCG environments with long standing relationships in both sectors.

The ideal candidate will come from a Fabrication / Pipework background with demonstrable Site Management and Project management experience and previous tenure in FMCG / Pharmaceutical / Hygienic environments. You will need to be based local to Somerset for this role.

• Attending to clients' needs both on and off site and servicing projects from start to finish

Mechanical Project Engineer Salary & Benefits

• Salary £60,000 - £70,000 dependent upon experience
• Working hours, Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm (40 hour working week)
• 31 days holiday including bank holiday
